Caring For Your Natural Hair

Estelle Adjei

Whilst we love switching up our styles, it’s important to keep your natural hair strong & healthy. Introducing our guide designed with your natural hair in mind.

Keeping your hair healthy is the most important thing, so don’t forget to care for the hair underneath as much as you care for the hair on the RadShape (if not more!).

Maintain Your Hair Washing Routine

Your hair may be “out of sight” but it should never be “out of mind”. Wash your hair as often as you would if you weren’t wearing a shape. The dirt, products and sweat that have accumulated on your hair and scalp can cause dryness and breakage. Keep it healthy, by keeping it clean!

Hydrate Daily

Don’t let your cornrows dry out. Make sure to replenish some moisture to your hair with some water (don’t get the hair too wet) or leave-in conditioner. Just like your body, your hair needs hydration to maintain healthy strands. It’s an everyday job!

Don’t Forget Your Scalp

Dandruff and dry scalp are two side-effects you want to avoid. So keep the skin between your braids nourished with light oils and massage it into the roots of your hair. Be careful to not use too much or you may clog your pores.

Let Your Hair Breathe

Perks of our easy RadShapes! Take it off at the end of your day, and let both your hair and scalp breathe.

Protect Your Hair at Night

It’s important to protect your hair while you sleep. Cotton sucks the moisture out of your hair, so instead, go for a silk scarf or bonnet or even a silk pillowcase to preserve hydration and your braids longer.
